“Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do.

Working in recruitment has taught me a number of things over the years; on a day to day basis we talk to people from different walks of life about ‘What their ideal role is?’, ‘Where they see themselves in ten years?’ and most importantly ‘What are they not enjoying in their current roles’.

I have come to the realisation that you need to follow a career path that you genuinely enjoy and are invested in or else you will never truly be happy. We spend a great deal of our lives at work; 40 hours a week, 160 hours a month, 2,080 hours a year, and that is without the overtime we all put in! It is important to LOVE what you do and maybe it won’t feel like work at all?

A year ago I made the leap to the Tyler Wren team as I wanted a team and role that would inspire me, keep me motivated and I wanted be somewhere I could love. I thought I would tell you what it is exactly I love about Tyler Wren and my job.

My Colleagues

For me this is a big perk. As I mentioned, I talk to people all day every day. No two days are the same and as the saying goes recruitment is ‘Champagne and Razor Blades’. My team are always there to celebrate the wins, find solutions for the losses and of course share that bottle of wine on a Friday afternoon! We have also been known to zipline over vineyards together, lock ourselves in escape rooms and bring out our competitive side in lawn bowls tournaments.

Flexibility and Autonomy

Here at Tyler Wren we make our own decisions, you are trusted to manage your clients, candidates and of course your own time. This means you can work whatever hours suit you; some of us are early birds, some like to go to the gym at lunchtime and most of us work from home at least one day a week. This also comes with unlimited unpaid leave if you fancy a trip to Europe or Mexico in my case! Just act like an adult, perform well and you are away laughing.

Support and Development

Once again our team is incredibly experienced and supportive. We have weekly, quarterly and annual progress catch ups to make sure we are on track, happy and successful and we are offered loads of initial and ongoing training. We have attractive salaries, great incentives and commission structures but best of all we have great unique selling points and once you love your job it becomes easy and exciting!

I have loved being at Tyler Wren from day one. All the above just drives me to succeed and protect what we have as an office and team. 2019 is a new year and it is time to identify your drivers; what you are looking for in a job and if these are currently not being offered, go out and find yourself a new position that you will love.

Trust me, it will be worth it!

We are working on a number of roles, including a couple for our team. Get in touch today if you’re ready to take the leap.
