Originally from the UK, Lisa has worked in recruitment for 20 years, during which time she has always been a hands-on recruiter. Her most recent role involved her setting up a recruitment business based in New Zealand across Construction, Accountancy & Finance and Insurance & Financial Services, which she thoroughly enjoyed. Lisa has trained and successfully managed many recruitment teams, but she always enjoyed working closely with her candidates and clients to get the best opportunities available to them in the market. She believes in qualifying and understanding her candidates’ skills, personality and experience to carefully match with her clients.
She has a strong understanding of the UK recruitment market, having spent 14 years working for a large corporate recruiter across the country, and she has also spent 6 years as a recruiter in New Zealand.
She emigrated to NZ in 2012 and was originally on a 2-year work visa but decided to stay. The first 12 months were tough – creating a social network, getting to know the area and generally how things worked – but after that she met her Kiwi partner, adopted a cat, renovated a house, spent way too much time on Waiheke Island and became a Kiwi. Lisa understands how tough the move can be, so she understands the needs of business professionals moving to New Zealand. She also has a strong network of New Zealand-based experts, having placed over 300 people into their roles.
Lisa loves a game of golf, wine, hiking, barbeques and spending time at the beach.
Scott has worked in recruitment for over 4 years and has also run his own businesses. He has led teams in both New Zealand and Australia, but Scott always remained a hands-on recruiter. As a recruitment partner was their “go to” guy for highly skilled roles, especially across the construction and sales sectors.
His clients and candidates partner with Scott because he is a down-to-earth, hardworking Kiwi guy who manages his clients’ and candidates’ expectations well and goes that extra mile for them. He understands his markets thoroughly, and his clients and candidates trust his judgment when reviewing their strategies to find a job or recruit.
Scott has built many industry connections and proactively works with learning and development groups across New Zealand. When he is not at work, he is in the gym or on the golf course. He loves a vodka and soda now and again and can eat a 1-litre tub of ice-cream in 8 seconds. Randomly, he can also play the bagpipes pretty well!
Vikki has over 10 years’ hands-on experience in recruitment and candidate sourcing with the UK’s largest specialist recruitment agency, 9 years of which were spent working alongside Lisa Gray. She has worked within different sectors, including Accountancy and Finance, and Office Support, covering the temporary, permanent and contract markets.
As a recruitment consultant she understands how the right role can change someone’s life, and as an army wife she understands how intimidating an overseas move can seem. This combination of professional experience and personal empathy makes her the ideal person to work alongside candidates interested in exploring the possibility of moving to New Zealand.
Vikki has travelled across New Zealand and appreciates what an amazing country it is, and what life is like there. She has a fond appreciation for the wines of Marlborough, the beauty of Waiheke and the calmness of Lake Pukaki.
Having recently returned from a Cyprus posting, she is once again enjoying life in the UK with her two young children and husband. When she is not in the gym, you will find her in the kitchen cooking up a storm for her family, who would describe her as loyal, committed and outgoing.
Tasha has had an interesting route into recruitment> She started her career working in an accounting firm, then moved into insurance sales before finding her calling in recruitment. For the past two years, she has specialised in placing professionals in their ideal role in a candidate-short market.
Due to her consultative nature, Tasha is great at building trust with clients and candidates and working with them to reach a common goal. She has an outgoing personality with a solid sense of humour, and is keen to listen and assist. Her favourite part of recruitment is when a candidate is absolutely overjoyed to get the job offer that will elevate their career and improve their circumstances.
Auckland born and raised, in her free time Tasha loves indulging in cuisine (and wine), travelling with her other half and cuddling her two adorable dogs. From time to time, Panda and Kobe (the dogs) make an appearance in the office, which always boosts everyone’s mood.
Stevie has worked in recruitment for the past three years, both in the United Kingdom and New Zealand. Originally from Auckland, Stevie completed her Bachelor of Business and got a couple of years’ experience under her belt before doing the typical Kiwi O.E to London.
A couple of years working and travelling abroad made Stevie realise how much she loved New Zealand and that she was ready to come home and settle back in Auckland. Stevie has recruited in a number of industries, including Office Support and Accounting and Finance, and in both the permanent and temporary job space. Her passions lie with matching candidates to their dream roles, ensuring the right culture fit with furthering their careers.
Stevie understands how daunting it is to move jobs, cities and countries, and she is always around to lend an ear or give advice. When she is not in the office, Stevie loves spending quality time with friends and family, outdoors hiking or having a cheeky wine, although her next travel destination is never too far from her mind.
Simone went into recruitment after many years working in commercial business support roles within building consultancy. Through her experience in this sector, Simone developed the skills required to collaborate and understand the complexities and challenges consultancy can bring. She is therefore a person who can understand and relate to these needs.
Simone is an effective, results-oriented recruiter who is detailed and considered in her approach to finding the right people for her clients. Simone believes that for recruitment to be effective and efficient, relationships based on trust and mutual understanding need to be built with both clients and candidates.
Simone enjoys music and can often be found singing in the office, much to the annoyance of “some” of her colleagues (who shall remain nameless). She also enjoys socialising with friends and family, good wine, food, and lots of laughs. With an outgoing personality, she enjoys a good laugh and is known to bestow nicknames on her family and colleagues.
Auckland born and raised, in her free time she loves hanging out with her husband and young son, playing touch rugby, yoga and catching up with friends.
Kirsty has international recruitment experience spanning over 5 years, and now specialises in Civil Engineering positions in Auckland. With extensive in-house and agency based experience, she’s worked at both ends of the table, and strives to make the recruitment process as efficient and smooth as possible for her clients.
She is passionate about dealing with candidates, and changing their lives by placing them with the right company! Having recently immigrated to New Zealand, she understands the enormity of the decision and how vital it is to make the right career move and lifestyle change for you and your family. Having lived in South Africa, the UK and now New Zealand, Kirsty would go far to say that this is the best place to settle, with Auckland and Tauranga being her favourite cities in New Zealand.
Should you be looking for support groups, parent communities or child care information, Kirsty is a new mom to a little boy Jesse, and has a wealth of information on all things maternity and baby related and loves to share experiences and offer advice should this be something that you’d like to know more about when considering a move to New Zealand. In her spare time, she enjoys the outdoors and exploring parts of Auckland, finding new spots to dine at and spending quality time with her family.
Originally from South Africa, Gary has worked in the Insurance and Financial Services for 20+ years with the past 3 ⅔ years in recruitment in New Zealand. He has led teams in the Insurance & Financial Services sectors including his most recent roles in recruitment in New Zealand. With his passion for Insurance & Financial Services he works closely with candidates to understand their career aspirations and with his background knowledge in this sector, coupled with a strong NZ network, is well placed to make great employer/employee relationships.
Gary moved to New Zealand with his partner of 9 years in 2015 with the good fortunes of having a softer landing as they have a wide family and friendship support circle, which “kiwi-fied” him to make New Zealand home! Having taken the decision to do a 360 change in career direction into the world of recruitment the transition was smooth taking into account his background in Insurance & Financial Services and he quickly developed a solid network in this space.
On the weekends Gary and his partner can be found enjoying the outdoors and are keen foodies who enjoy entertaining both at home or be it a new dining experience with a few cheeky wines.
Michael is a seasoned recruiter having secured 5 years recruitment experience in his “tool belt”. He has recruited in all areas of the construction industry supplying some of the best candidates to the largest projects in the United Kingdom and New Zealand. His key areas of expertise are construction management working with Site Managers, project managers across New Zealand.
He moved to New Zealand 5 years ago after leaving the British Army and feels this background gives him a very organised and fast-paced way of dealing with situations in this industry. On arrival to NZ, he hit the ground running with Auckland’s construction Boom and has been able to build long-lasting relationships with the top tier contractors in Auckland and prides himself on his consultative approach and the level candidates he works with.
Michael is an avid football fan and being from Leeds, supports his local team, he religiously wakes up to catch a game at 3am every week. In his free time, if he isn’t fishing or walking the dogs he will be out seeing the country’s beautiful sights on his motorbike.
Having relocated from UK to the NZ Michael can also offer support and advice to anyone taking the jump.
Leonie is our Kiwi Mum and employed by the Tyler Wren team exclusively to support relocators and their families into New Zealand, she has a wealth of knowledge and engages with our New Kiwis to ensure their transition to NZ is as painless as possible.
Leonie was brought up on a sheep farm on the south Otago coast, giving her a love of rural New Zealand lifestyle based around small community.
Leonie has worked in the field of land information and subdivision planning with various councils and government departments in Dunedin, Christchurch, Napier and Waimakariri.
Living and working in Christchurch, for The Christchurch City Council, prior to and during the response to the September 2010 earthquake provided the unique opportunity to train in civil defence and have a major earthquake to put that training into use. Although not what anyone would have wanted, it does cultivate a life perspective and resilience.
Having moved and resettled in both the North Island and South Island of New Zealand eleven times, in both large Cities and small provincial towns, provides some useful experience which may help people as they begin to establish their life in beautiful Aotearoa New Zealand.
Leonie comes from a large family, has two grown children and two young, delightfully entertaining grandsons. Having friends and family spread across New Zealand means she has lots of favourite restaurants and holiday spots scattered across the country.
Leonie loves tramping in our beautiful South Island National Parks. Beach walking and may be seen exploring local coast and harbour areas by jet Ski.
She also makes amazing fudge!
Ilaria has had a varied career spanning the Arts, Communications and Sales spheres. Upon completing her Bachelor’s degree in Art History, Ilaria worked across Auckland’s gallery space for a couple of years before moving to France to be closer to pain au chocolats, awesome art, and her Italian family.
Fast forward a few years, Ilaria was back in the northern hemisphere, this time living in East London where she worked in communications for a craft brewery. It wasn’t until she came back to Auckland that she found her vocation in recruitment.
Before joining Tyler Wren, her most recent role was in temporary recruitment specialising in the legal, corporate and insurance industries. She is passionate about bringing candidate and client together and making that perfect match.
Outside of work, Ilaria has a keen interest in music, travel and anything food related. You can find her unnecessarily scoffing at all hours of the day thinking about her next travel destination.
